Bad news I'm afraid we have gone a goal down after two minutes with the scorer being Joel Kettle who then added a second after four minutes.

Final Score - Halesowen Town 2 Skelmersdale United 0. Not a happy 500th game for Tommy unfortunately. I understand we finished the game with nine men with both Valter Fernandes and Rob Bodie dismissed. Thanks to Neil and Mary for the updates.

No problem with the result, 2-0 down after 4 mins , could have had probably another 2 shortly after. Rest of game , most played in their half without threatening the goals, they broke well and fast and had a couple of chances but dont think Zac had a save to make. First 15 mins cost us. Valter was sent off, an innocuous challenge in front of the dugouts resulted in a 20 man brawl, Ref bottled it booked Kenny and one of theirs, could have booked the whole 20. Everytime Valter was near to the ball they were shouting foul, having a go at him when he took throw ins, out to get him Valter made a challenge-stumble and was shown a RED. You could see it coming. Rob Bodie was booked after he and one of their players were taken off during head injury, The ref had time to bring both back on, Rob shouted at him and he was booked, minutes later he made a crunching TACKLE. a proper tackle won the ball and was shown RED, disgrace !!! We were still equal to them with 9 men but didnt make their keeper make one save all game. The ref had a very good game first half, excellent I would say but second half, he didnt take his pills and was woeful, not just to us, booked one of theirs for time wasting when there was a stop in play. Right result on the day

Double kick in the teeth today. Marine were 2-0up against Curzon when the floodlights failed. Match abandoned.
From Kevs mini report it sounds like we were firing blanks again today. Got to agree with Jetskems comment

A Neutrals Point of view (Groundhopper Kidology-Harrow Middlesex)
Northern Premier League, Premier Division Halesowen Town 2 Skelmersdale United 0 Admission £10 Attendance 401
A day on which the league leaders were lucky to get nil. A pleasant ground this with 15 or so steps of terracing all along one side of the ground, and a pitch cut into the banking in one corner to suggest there may have been a considerable slope here in the past.
Skelmersdale snoozed their way through the first 5 minutes and found themselves 2 down. First a flicked header from a near post corner, then a knock down from a long throw which the keeper failed to deal with, and on both occasions the beneficiary was the centre half Kettle, which left Skelmersdale in hot water and Halesowen having built up a head of steam etc etc.
It was 15 minutes before Skelmersdale launched any kind of noteworthy attack and in it they should have won a penalty for hand ball, but aside from that, and some shooting which threatened anything but the home side's goal, there was nothing of interest and no-one in control but the home side. Once half time had arrested any progress the visitors might have been making, Halesowen stifled the game, and Skelmersdale had nothing to offer except indiscipline.
First there was an off the ball incident in front of the dugout which I didn't see and neither did the referee or his assistants but which clearly involved Skelmersdale's Fernandez in some way. A predictable melee ensued, with a lot of pushing and shoving and a booking for each side, but Fernandez seemed to escape unpunished. Two minutes later he was more sinned against than sinner in a 50-50 challenge when the Halesowen player seemed to try to take man and ball onto the terraces with him in what could have been seen as retributive, but it was Fernandez who picked up the booking. And five minutes later a tangle of legs which looked unintentional but stopped the Halesowen player from continuing an attack earned him a rather harsh red card.
And with the game effectively over, centre back Brodie launched a rather unnecessary two footed challenge which took man and ball and which was stupid rather than malicious but resulted in Skelmersdale being reduced to 9 men. Hardly a day for the visitors to remember then - as a league leaders performance, this was non-existent; not a bad day at the office, more they pulled a sickie.

Kevin;
Why are feeding us this load of rubbish, I suspect just because you are good mates with one of their supporters.. . . What I and a number of others saw yesterday was shameful and everything that is wrong with football. . . Your actions are only encouraging "The Mob Rule" that we saw yesterday.. . . we know what we saw and they are nothing to do with the result as Halesowen would probably have won anyway once they went 2 goals up. . . The Halesowen support was disgusting and I cannot see why you are trying to justify them

Neil
You can only put what you witnessed, I had a cht with a number of supporters, all were ok with me and we stood among them, behind the dugouts, in the first half. They even went as far as to say "we had a penalty" There were a few "Scousers chants" but you get that anywhere. I was quite comfortable with me shouting for Skem whilst stood with them.
I moved to behind the goal in the second half and a couple of old guys where fine by us, There was some shouting for the home side, in which I was always quick to reply with "Come on Skem" No bother or even a threat to us
In the report I do say they were out to get Valter, players, management and the supporters on that far side, there reaction got to the ref. As you will see in a neutrals report "It was rather harsh"
There were 400 on the ground 380 shouting for the home side, I suppose it could feel intimidating but I can only report on the experience I had.
I just wish we could have that kind of backing.

Kev I for one wouldn't like that kind of backing, numbers yes, but to but to prey on an already weak ref mob handedly by their players only inflames the problem and makes the supporters worse. They are not football supporters
No give me 200 well behaved fans any day
