Very simple and just for fun..... After years of wear you need new goal nets..... The choice is simple 4mm hexagonal nets £400 a pair...lifespan 6-10 years and weatherproof(as used at stormy corner now,the clubs current ones 10 years + in age) OR 2.5mm square nets available anywhere £70 - £120 a pair....lifespan for kids 1-2 years... adults 1 year ,not weatherproof for long periods, and as soon as they are collided with, tear from net hooks, and almost instantly get holes in them. Is it the quality that takes a beating every season .....or the cheap one that needs replacing almost every year? Seems simple to everyone but..... QUESTION Which one would you expect members of the board to recommend?was the best choice financially? ?? I hope this is a wind up because,I nearly choked on my drink when told about this today ?

Hi Stuey,
I don't know where you get your information from because it is completely untrue, the nets we the board are looking to order are 5mm not 2·5mm which you suggested, they are also used by several premier clubs, with a two year guarantee, the price of these nets are £400 but we can get for £200, as we all know Skelmersdale United is not a cash rich club so any savings do help,in finishing if there is anybody out there who think they can do a better job I will step aside and let them get on with it

I think the emphasis maybe in the last line here (quote) "I nearly choked on my drink" Probably a bit too strong I fear

Maybe we could spread the cost among the other teams in the league as they cause most of the wear and tear ;-)
