Blyth Spartans
Croft Park,
Plessey Road, Blyth,
Northumberland NE24 3JE
Leave Skelmersdale and head North up the M6 until you reach Carlisle.
Leave the M6 at Junction 43, signed A69 Carlisle/ Hexham/ Newcastle
At the roundabout at the top of the slip road, take the 3rd Exit onto the A69 toward Hexham/ Newcastle.
Carry on along the A69 for approx. 45 miles.
You are advised that there are many Radar Camera’s along the A69, some checking average speed (it is a very tempting road on which to put your foot down).
Eventually you will come to the A1. Head North
After around 6 miles take the A19 ramp signed A189 Cramlington/ Blyth/ Ashington.
After 0.5 miles at the roundabout take the 3rd Exit onto A19
After 2.2 miles at another roundabout take the 2nd Exit onto A189
After 2.2 miles take the exit toward A192 Seaton Delaval/ Cramlington
After 200 yards merge onto the A1061
After 100 yards at the roundabout take the 3rd Exit and stay on A1061
Go through 2 roundabouts
After 3 miles at roundabout take the 1st Exit onto Rotary Way / A193
Go through 1 roundabout and after 1 mile at another roundabout take 3rd Exit onto Plessey Road / B1327
You be able to see the ground.
Team coach take 3rd left (William Street) and reverse into Bishopton Street to ground entrance
The ground is visible from a distance as it is next to a large public park.
Parking is usually in the streets surrounding the ground
The ground has a large Stand that commends excellent views of the game. It also has a substantial club on the ground that usually has big screens for football matches. The catering facilities in the ground are also very good.
DO NOT MISS. Gino’s Fish & Chip Shop on Plessey Road (by the ground, opposite the bus shelter). It is a personal favourite and is highly recommended. Order your fish when you go in. 10 out of 10, it is arguably one of the highlights of the trip.
