Why is it that kev panther is the only contributor in the main on this forum? Where's the supporters club? An entity that is more secretive than the masons!!! where's the contributions from the board members ? Where's the contributions from the silent majority? Don't moan if your voice isn't being heard. Seems to me like skem fans are burying their heads in the sand and letting one fiasco from the next occur, get a grip and start making your voices heard

Hi Stuey Most of the action occurs on the dreaded facebook page.
Last week the Main concern was to secure a New lease, failing that a ground share, We didnt achieve the extended lease with our landlords but did manage to get a ground share with Prescot
The Directors worked hard last week, The solicitors have been shut since Friday, there is a meeting this week to discus further, we are also in contact with various bodies regarding the situation.
No doubt expect an announcement.
We understand the supporters concerns and are doing our best to sort things out
Cheers

The next moves are so important, kev it annoys me that everything goes quiet, when this is the open site, and let's be honest the minute your mum and dad join Facebook it's the sign that it's already out of date as it's taken them 4 years to work out how to log in! All malice, history and ill feeling have to go out of the window, everyone should be at open meeting and I mean everyone, to thrash out a future and more importantly put out a United front for future sponsors players investors etc. If the powers that be, ignore the supporters, members or not again, on this matter I fear that they will become the focus of frustration not chequer prop, this matter is bigger than the board, and needs input from every quarter no matter what he thinks of them and vice versa. Hopefully this happens soon or some kind of online debate involving everyone.and people get the chance to raise questions or write questions if they are not confident to speak out in public

I agree we need an open meeting with honest comments and chances for everyone to show support and offer opinions not everyone can afford a season Ticket but people deserve to be there to listen to the future of our club an on line debate does not reach everyone a lot of people do not do Facebook or even have a computer so let's all have a chance to meet and listen to what lies ahead for our club

Stuey, I was an active contributor to this forum giving my opinion on our games whether it was in praise of the team performances or not. On one occasion (against Marine ironically) I mentioned that we were lucky to win (on penalties) and that I thought that George Donnelly didn’t show enough effort. These views were criticised by the then manager and the then press officer of the club, so I thought “what the point? At least I’m not over biased and can think for myself without being told we have played well when we obviously haven’t” and haven’t posted on that page since, but continue to manage the prediction page.
I would be all in favour of an open meeting if there weren’t so many raw feelings amongst folk The trouble with having an open meeting is that it could potentially, and likely to, turn from a civilised debate into all out row with in-fighting and false accusations and distracted from the immediate issues. I’m sure nobody wants that. If there is going to be an open meeting it has to be structured with questions/opinions written down and read out by some kind of host for the night (the club secretary perhaps?) and make the evening a little like TV’s “Question Time” This is just my opinion.

I agree with everything you say Les and maybe this should be proposed at tuesdays match, a number of supporters asking by letter to the chairman,as it is no longer about them v them it's about a club still not seeing the big picture, it never offered the majority the meeting and the Q+A that was asked for a numerous amount of times, this idea was totally abandoned when everyone thought they were untouchable, leading to even more dismay amongst the supporters especially those who were talking about the clubs ground issue 2 years ago, I know this as I was there during these chats.
I personally feel what's happened has happened, sackings, budget cuts, player and board member walkouts, relegation, all of these things happened between the board players/coaches, basically everyone who thought they were someone at the club, without any regard or respect for the supporters, those same supporters who provide a big income at the club and support it in more ways than just paying to watch what has been a train wreck of a season from the terraces, AND WITHOUT DOUBT..the most important asset this club has, who beam with a pride about the club its past present and hopefully future. HOPEFULLY FUTURE..... horrible saying that on the clubs website, but if it is to have one, it'll be the will of those ignored/ banned/ laughed at/ sacked (and in yours and others case, told off for having an opinion) supporters, that will be asked to contribute to the clubs survival by the very people who closed the door on any form of questioning, especially questioning of each bad decision taken by them, or reasons behind a certain moves taken at various times, that led to anger in some quarters.
I hope any open house doesn't go astray, and the open door policy swings towards a more favourable outcome on the future of the club, because if it survives through this period and does return back to the town, it has to be open for all, with clear achievable objectives every year, including everyone and their questions answered publically, for us all to take in and understand. Secrets and rumours have failed the club again, and I'm sure that the current board do not want to be remembered for the current farce, caused by external factors and those they paid and trusted! As well as their own errors of judgement, BUT as a unit that changed everything from top to bottom at the club and led it forward from inherited problems. After all is said and done we the supporters did our part, it wasn't our fault the club is where it is now. It was not our fault the club got into debt, It was not our fault the club can't connect with the people and businesses of the town, we just turned up payed our dues, donated our time volunteering at the ground and supported the club without prompt, some even travelling distances to be there and spend the money. This is what the open meeting is about ....bringing a unified front and taking the club forward, finally getting answers for everyone so the slate is clean, a clean start for the club in a new season and hopefully a new period of success both on and off the field. FINGERS CROSSED.
