WELCOME TO THE FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER
DONT FORGET ITS THE "M58 DERBY" TOMORROW NIGHT TUESDAY
When we entertain Marine, get along and support the blues, your support is vital.
Well its been quite a successful month on the playing field, with United winning 4 of the 6 games played including a rousing 4-1 triumph over Play-off hopefuls Rushall Olympic.
There were a few goalscorers on form during the Month, Chris Almond getting his second hat trick in the space of 6 weeks against Ramsbottom Utd and Super Max Hazeldene getting a brace against both Hyde and Rushall
After Marine on Tuesday United have two away fixtures against Barwell and Stamford before a Home tie on Saturday 12th March against Salford City, we all have heard about Salford over the last few seasons, taken over by Manchester United's Class of 92, Scholes, Butt, Giggs and the Neville Brothers
They were heavily featured in this seasons FA Cup and have had a series on the BBC on their progress, a second series is coming up in the summer.
The team are then away to Hyde on Saturday 19th before a HOME tie against Whitby on Tuesday 22nd March, before going into the Easter Weekend with an away trip to Matlock on the 26th, A home tie on Bank Holiday Monday against FA Trophy Semi Finalists Nantwich Town
Three Home fixtures to get exited about
OFF FIELD
As you maybe aware the club are collecting for "The Fence", with the high winds before Xmas the club lost the fence at the far end of the ground, it will take a few thousand pounds to put right.
The pitch was also underwater after the deluge on Bopxing Day, which has lead to some problems that need rectifying as soon as the season finishes, this will cost in the region of £15,000, a hefty sum in anyones terms.
If anyone would like to make a donation then see me, Kev Panther or any Committee person with your donations, we are making progress but we really could do with your help.
You can also donate on the Club House Bar, Supporters Chairman Graham West has put up a rather large bottle, which its hoped to fill with your loose change, just pop into the Bar and donate in the "Bottle". Your donations are more than welcome and thanks again to all thjose who have already dug deep.
You Can also help raise funds by Visiting Easyfundraising, I know I keep bangin on about it but if you order anything at all on line then please sign up to Easyfundraising, register with your cause as Skelmersdale United FC and whenever you shop online, go through their site and the club will receive a donation
We have got less than £100 raised, other clubs at the same level as ours are raising £1000s. Just take a look and see what we can do.

YOUTH SIDES
With the weather improving over the past few weeks, lets keep ,our fingers crossed the Youth teams have been back in business
Last weekend the Reserves lost by 1-0 to a very strong AFC Fylde side, The Under 18s fared better winning 1-0 at Warrington, a screamer from Josh Ackers separating the teams, this after Manager Paul Nicholson had to make many changes due to a certain Match being on at Wembley
(Skelmersdale United will entertain Enfield on July 30th 2016 in a re run of our clubs first ever visit to the Twin Towers)
Under 17 Manager John Barnes must have felt somewhat let down when 5 of his squad went to Wembley but he was thrilled at the Final whistle as the team beat league leaders Penlake by 2-1 Jack Swan and Mike Murphy with the goals
Thanks keep on supporting
Cheers Kev
