Ther was a rumour going round the ground on saturday that skem have applied to the NWCL for next season + I've read something about it on here somewhere. Is there any truth in this?

I don't know why people make these things up,it is absolute nonsense,it has not been discussed by the committee at all

Just a quickie we were talking about a rumour that the current Burscough board had applied for the NWCL ,and how they would fare within it,before the start of our match,that may have been misheard by people.this then led to a talk of the clubs and players doing good locally within that league.At no point were Skem mentioned in that conversation,except when it came to player talk, then Skem were mentioned. Hope that clears up any confusion not from yourself but anyone who may have heard little bits then put a tale together.Great result today at marine.

Wouldn't Burscough be relegated to the NWCFL anyway should they finish bottom,or would they still need to apply to play in it?

That is right,Wilko,unless they feel they can escape the trap door,but want to go anyway,it's all whispers and has started as a rumour that grew legs!
It seems as though the two main clubs in this area,are in trouble,and both have a common link.meanwhile at least 2/3 clubs in Liverpool area seem to be growing both in supporter numbers and financially,one of them is in their first season.
Let's be honest though if city of Liverpool fc bring 400+ to Burscough and clubs like bootle take a hundred there including players families,add AFC Liverpool and possibly litherland remyca or charnock richard etc etc then the attendances will rise despite the club and its supporters being at war with each other,so there is a logic in the rumour,truth or not.
