FORMER SKEM STAR DONNELLY MOVES ON
By Neil Leatherbarrow
Former Skelmersdale United striker George Donnelly has made a big change for the New Year. By leaving Fleetwood Town and joining Macclesfield Town on a contract that will see him at “The Silkmen” until summer 2014.
George had previously been sold by Skelmersdale to Plymouth Argyle, but the Devon sold him to Fleetwood earlier in the year.
George has experience in League Two with Stockport County and was among the goals from them last season and has made big name for himself with Macclesfield whilst on loan this season.
I am sure all Skelmersdale fans will wish him well and a full report of the move is below, it is taken from the official Macclesfield Town FC website:

“Donnelly makes Macc move permanent
George Donnelly, on loan with the Silkmen from Blue Square Premier Fleetwood Town since September, has become a Macclesfield Town player after the two clubs agreed the terms of a transfer that will involve an undisclosed five figure fee.
Donnelly, who netted the Silkmen's winner in yesterday's victory over Port Vale - his fourth goal for the club, has signed a two and a half year deal that will keep him at Moss Rose until June 2014.
"He'll be a great asset to the club" said Silkmen manager Gary Simpson. "He's still young but has some good experience under his belt, so he's someone we are very happy to have brought to the club permanently."”
Skelmersdale United are at home on Monday 2nd January, when Tommy Lawson’s side entertain Bamber Bridge kick-off 3pm, in a game that usually generates plenty of goals.
