Home games on 14th and 17th January 2017
STOURBRIDGE - HOME 14th January - Kick Off 3pm
This week we welcome to the Uretek Stadium FA Cup heroes Stourbridge, who last weekend fought out a valiant encounter against Wycombe, going down 2-1 to a late winner from the 2nd Division side. Stourbridge did themselves proud.
Stourbridge currently sit in mid table but have games in hand on all the clubs above them and if they win them all they could go top
Im sure they will bring a good number of supporters with them and we look towards a competitive encounter.
The club with its current financial problems are looking for Match Day Sponsors for games in the second half of the season and if anyone is interest then please contact Norman on 07949 582262
The club is also on the look out for a Commercial Manger to work with the current sponsors and acquire new sponsors for the club, again contact Norman if you or anybody you know might be interested
With the club in a current financial plight, wouldnt it be great to see 2,000 supporters on the ground, that's how many were there 50 years ago on the day, as United took on Amateur Cup giants and 10 times winners Bishop Auckland at White Moss Park, no one gave Skem a chance, even the grounds man at the time was heard to say "They will murder us" but it was not to be and in one of Skems Finest hours United saw of the challenge of Northern League side 3-0.
On Tuesday 17th United are at Home again to another of footballl's FA Cup Giant killers when Blyth Spartans are the visitors, another top 4 side in the NPL. it is sure to be a tough few days for the young lads at Skem but with the support of the local community Im sure it will help matters both on and off the field
We look forward to seeing you down at the ground soon
