Skelmersdale United extended their unbeaten run to six league games after claiming a 1-1 draw at Atherton Collieries.
United made one change from Saturday's starting 11 with Harry Blackburn replacing Bevan Burey while Johnathan Crane returned from injury on the bench. United had the ball in the net inside the first minute as a Callum Roberts free-kick found Andy Owens but in heading past 'keeper Adam Reid, he was adjudged to have upended the Colls stopper.
Two minutes later though, Owens opened the scoring as he got a touch to Jack Fleming's long range effort which beat Reid at the near post. Colls replied with an effort over the bar from Daniel Lambert before Seb Julien came achingly close to collecting a long range free-kick at the far post.
Mike Roddy swept a shot over the bar for United as did Owens with a long-range free-kick. United came close to doubling the lead with Owens clipping over the bar from Harry Blackburn's cross after Colls had reorganised with a double change on 27 minutes, Sebastian Julian and Chris Lynch replaced by Jordan Cover and Jake Kenny.
The hosts were forced into a third change after Ryan Salmon had clashed heads with Fleming. A clever passing play saw Lambert in on goal but a poor touch saw his shot drift wide. Colls had two good chances to level early in the second with a free-kick drifting just over the bar before substitute Cover clipped a shot just over the target.
Seconds later, United were denied a second by Reid, a point blank save denying Nathan Randell after the winger met Owens' cross. Colls went close to a leveller twice in a matter of minutes with Ben Hardcastle forcing a low save from Roberts before the stopper was beaten by Gareth Peet's shot which cannoned back off the post.
Owens swept a shot across the goal before the hosts were reduced to ten men on 77 minutes, Jamie Forbes given his marching orders for a second bookable offence after bringing down Callum Mahoney. Colls' ten men came achingly close to an equaliser as a cleverly worked free-kick saw Iain Howard lay off to Danny Lafferty who unleashed a strike which deflected just past the post.
The leveller came with eight minutes left as Darrhyl Mason nodded a Howard cross at the back post to Cover who laid the ball off for Hardcastle to tuck into the net past Roberts from close range. United came close to regaining the lead three minutes later as Owens headed past the post from Fleming's corner but it was to be a point apiece for the two sides as United made it six games unbeaten.
