After claiming a last-gasp point away to Ramsbottom, United resumed hosting duties with 3-1 defeat to Tadcaster Albion.
Dave Powell handed first starts to Chorley duo Jordan Darr and Tyler Rufus with Nathan Randell and Bevan Burey dropping to the bench.
First half goals from Pete Davidson and Andy Milne for the visitors were followed by Josh Wardle's effort before half time with Joe Pugh wrapping up the win for Taddy midway through the second half. The first real chance for either side saw Jordan Darr clip a shot across goal before a clever run from Casey Stewart saw him square the ball to Joseph Pugh whose shot was claimed by Callum Roberts. A minute later, Pugh found Stewart but his touch saw the ball cut across the goal. The deadlock was broken in the 20th minute as a clever intercepting run from Pete Davidson saw him evade Josh Wardle and blast past Roberts for 1-0.
After a dangerous free-kick from Jack Fleming was cleared, Taddy countered superbly with Stewart finding Conor Sellars whose run was cleverly halted by a last-gasp challenge from Phil Mooney. Stewart continued to be the main threat for the visitors as he ended a run at goal by slotting the ball narrowly past the post. Some controversy on the half hour mark as a dash from Aiden Savory saw him go to ground after minor contact from Mooney, Pugh whipped in the free-with Andy Milne heading in for 2-0.
Roberts was on hand to collect a swooping effort from Sellars before a strange free-kick combo between Fleming and Ali Redmayne forced a corner with half time looming. Fleming whipped in the corner with Wardle heading on the back post to Tom Mitchell who had an air shot, blocked the rebounded shot from Callum Mahoney and found Wardle who fired past Michael Ingham for 2-1.
United came close to levelling within two minutes of the restart as Darr's low cross narrowly missed the onrushing Tyler Rufus. A clever through pass from Davidson put Stewart in on goal with great pressure from Mitchell forcing a shot off target.
Darr threatened for United with a mazy run which saw him force a strong save from Ingham after a lofted cross. The visitors extended their lead with 75 minutes on the clock as Savory sashayed through the United defence before finding Pugh who slotted in for 3-1.
United had a great chance to cut the gap as Rufus headed past the post from close range after collecting a flick on from Mitchell, he came closer minutes later as he was inches away from heading in a long rage free-kick from Tom Molyneux which Ingham claimed.
Tadcaster had the ball in the net for a fourth time after Roberts spilled a Sellars free-kick which saw substitute Harry Sheppeard tap in before seeing his effort denied for offside. The effort proved to be the last real chance on goal and with the final whistle; United saw their run of home defeats extended.
