I have just spoken to the Skelmersdale United groundsman Peter McGee. Sadly he is not very hopeful about the propects for the game v Cammell Laird, tomorrow.
Peter said "We will give it until tomorrow before we make a decision on the game. . . . It (the pitch) had frost deep in the ground and has puddles on top where the rain will not drain away because the ground is frozen. The frost has permeated down into the pitch surface."
Bryn Jones has arranged an inspection for 10am Saturday morning.
Watch this space, we will keep you informed of developments over the next 24 hours.

Correct Traveller - our league this morning informed the clubs that if photographs could be e-mailed to them of the pitch they would authorise the postponement without the need to wait until tomorrow morning.

Paul Byrne- after overcoming my knee injury and being available to play matches i have been told by the manager that i am no longer needed by the club. I have therefore decided to train with Bootle fc until the end of the season. I would like to thank the fans for all their support throughout my time at Skem. I wish the players alll the very best for the rest of the season and i hope they can make the playoffs, they are a great bunch of lads who are more than good enough to gain promotion. I am not going to moan about the way i have been treated whilst injured because i would like to leave the club on good terms. Its dissapointing that it ended this way but i will take it on the chin and move on, thats foootball. Byrno.  |
