Great weekend for the club, Friday we had the Academy presentation night, all the teams represented with awards given out and loads of fun for all the kids who attended, a massive thanks to Shaun Tuck, even though he has moved on to Witton Albion he turned up to present the awards, Saturday and the 1st team squad turned out to play Charnock Richard, Charnock are a good team, they won their league last year,good set up with nice people running it, the game itself was evenly contested with good performances from both sides, John Bathurst scored the only goal of the game, hard to say who was man of the match but I was impressed with Anthony Hickey who worked his socks off in the time he was on, Tommy has a good pool of players to pick from so the Southport game should be a cracker, today watched the under 18's play Ashton Town u18s in a friendly, good game, Skem won 5-1, next game is Ashton Athletic u18's next Sunday. The u18's will be playing home games at Skems ground on Sundays,2.30ko so please get down to the ground to support them when you can. team picture of the youth team is on the Club website.
